Primary Purpose of the Role

The Customer Service Specialist position needs to be able to work independently and will be responsible for managing the orders and inventory for all incoming orders via internal and external systems through to final shipment, responding to customer inquiries via email & telephone

Essential Job Duties

Maintain order integrity through accurate data entry procedures; notify customer of pricing discrepancies

Manage daily, weekly, import and seasonal program orders from US & international manufacturing facilities and suppliers

Closely monitor incoming product containers and inventory levels on both manufactured and imported product. Initiate proactive emails to customer and sales relating to delays, production, backorders and shortages

Inspect and verify labels on manufactured product samples, complete testing reports and submit for third party testing

Calculate order data to determine number of pallets and truck volume needed and input data into client portal when ready for pickup

Track must-arrive-by date compliance for seasonal programs; work with third party logistics team and distribution centers to resolve issues

Maintain reporting for sales and fill rate percentage and submit to Client and sales and marketing team on a weekly basis

Developing Excel spreadsheets by utilizing system data to provide sales, product and data to procurement, planning, marketing and both the VPI and Joliet warehouse team

All other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

Must be able to work independently as well with others in all departments within the company.

The person should be able to adapt to changing daily job functions and have the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively while working under the stressful conditions of meeting deadlines.

Individual needs to be committed, detail oriented, flexible and have strong organization, communication (both written and verbal) and computer skills.
3 years of Customer service experience in a data driven, customer focused environment
