Job Summary
To manage, facilitate and coordinate the activities and duties of the sales team. The Sales Manager should possess the skills to motivate, guide, and direct members of the sales force toward achieving goals and objectives of the Company while coordinating those efforts with initiatives from our suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of employees to ensure the most qualified individuals are hired for sales positions.
- Motivate, manage, coach, and direct Area Sales Manager in their management responsibilities and activities. Instill teamwork toward common goals and objectives.
- Provide training, development, direction and follow-up through the consistent execution of the Sales “work with” program.
- Facilitate team meetings to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Make recommendations and seek input from the Area Sales Manager, Merchandising Manager, Brand Managers, Director of Operations, and President concerning problems and issues.
- Develop incentive programs within Company budgets to enhance the motivation and excitement of all sales associates.
- Spearhead strategic planning and execution of off-premise and on-premise goals and objectives to achieve sales quotas and maximum performance of the entire sales team.
- Plan and coordinate the initiatives and activities of special events with community and business contacts, suppliers and sales team.
- Act as primary contact, spokesperson and representative for sales department for other departments within the Company.
- Analyze and assist in the preparation of annual sales department budget. Manage and monitor expenditures to ensure execution is within set guidelines of approved budget.
- Participate in planning and forecasting of product orders to aid in efficiency of warehouse inventory and ensure availability of product for sale.
- Direct and coordinate promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position in industry.
- Promote organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
- Manage and coordinate signage plans and/or execution with the Merchandising Manager and Graphics Manager to achieve optimum merchandising and sales objectives.
- Uphold customer service philosophy and exemplify Company standards while executing business activities.
- Strive to build and maintain favorable reputation of KEG 1 Iowa, LLC to fulfill vision of being the “Preferred Supplier” with our customers.
- Answer and satisfy customer complaints whenever possible to build positive business relationships.
- Work with product suppliers to develop new brand/package strategies for successful introduction and delivery to market.
- Coordinate and execute brewery programs toward achieving initiatives and optimum sales.
- Participate in supplier quality assurance programs.
- Enforce product freshness policies to eliminate out-of-date product at retail.
- Conduct performance appraisals of each direct report on a regular basis.
- Be prepared to take corrective action to improve any deficiencies in assigned staff performance through counseling and/or progressive discipline forms.
- Ensure proper staff is available prior to approving vacations.
- Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of the Company.
- Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures outlined in the KEG 1 Iowa, LLC Employee Handbook.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with local, state, and federal liquor control regulations.

Qualifications

- Education – Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent
- Experience – Ten (10) or more years sales and/or management experience, prefer CPG industry
- Licensing – valid Driver License
