We have an exciting opportunity in the Milestones Trust Learning and Development team. The Learning and Development team provides development and career progression opportunities to ensure our staff have the right skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and make a difference in the lives of the people we support. We’re looking for someone to join us on a fixed term contract (maternity cover) as our Learning and Development Advisor. You will be joining a team that values collaboration, creativity and making an impact.
This role is based at our office in Staple Hill Bristol with travel to our services (Bristol, Swindon and surrounds). Hybrid working is available- some days in our office in Bristol will be required. Most facilitation is done face to face in Bristol or Swindon.

As our Learning and Development Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and facilitating engaging training programmes
  • Supporting the roll our of our in-house leadership programme
  • Coordinating external funding submissions to support learning initiatives
  • Overseeing our apprenticeship opportunities
  • Supporting the overall support L&D team provide to colleagues
  • Leading on our onboarding programme


We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Significant experience as an independent facilitator who can engage and inspire. A training qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • A good understanding of the social care sector
  • Experience in a learning and development role within a regulated sector
  • Confidence using a Learning Management System and/or HR information system
  • A positive solution focused approach
  • A passion for developing staff and helping them thrive
