JOB.TITLE, Ongoing opportunity based in Sydney + hybrid working options available The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing cyber security team! Benefits Ongoing Grade 7/8 position delivering operational cyber security capabilities to defend and protect critical government systems and information. Salary range: $113,574 - $125,720 plus super, commensurate with experience. Excellent leave entitlements: 20 days annual leave, up to an additional 24 days flexible leave. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Detection Response team and be at the forefront of protecting and defending critical technologies and data. Your responsibilities will include: Proactively monitor and respond to alerts from various security platforms to ensure that incidents are handled according to agreed procedures. Investigate and respond to assigned incidents and tasks promptly to resolve issues within agreed service levels and standards. Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders and teams to monitor, detect, respond and remediate cyber security threats and incidents. Ensure effective incident recovery by accurately documenting information, communicating outcomes, and closing resolved incidents. Provide information and advice relating to cyber security incidents, technology and emerging threats to enable informed decision-making and minimise the impact of cyber security incidents. Identify and recommend improvements to maximise the effectiveness and coverage of security tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build capability and ensure adherence to security best practices. About you: Technically minded with an ability to tackle complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Experience in cyber security, technology and/or incident response. Experience in monitoring alerts of Web Application Firewalls, Proxies, Cloud Security Posture management tools, Data Loss Prevention and Endpoint Protection would be well regarded. A collaborative team player who can work with technical and non-technical teams to ensure the effective response to cyber security and operational technology incidents. Passionate, keen and motivated to uplift and develop methods and processes to ensure the delivery of highly effective security capabilities.
