Description

Job Summary

The Systems Engineer is responsible for administrating and supporting client’s operating system environments according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of system availability and performance. This role involves supporting and maintaining the organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware, software, and infrastructure applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide L1 troubleshooting for network operating system issues, hardware performance, security vulnerabilities, and other basic systems management tasks.
  • Resolve Incident Requests for assigned clients.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software, collaborating with the support of the on-site resources when required.
  • Devise processes, methodologies, and documentation to enhance customer support quality.
  • Analyze logs, system performance, and apply operating system updates, and configuration changes.
  • Maintain system configuration documentation and Identify opportunities for automation.
  • Provide recommendations for improving client operating environments.
  • Collaborate with third party vendors and application teams for general troubleshooting and change requests.
  • Update runbooks

Skills and Experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in related field.
  • Experience supporting Cloud computing technologies.
  • Experience Monitoring Systems performance.
  • Proven experience with server-based environments.
  • Participate in 24x7 on call support rotation.

Education:

  • Computer Science, Engineering, IT bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge in backup’s technologies.
  • Knowledge in cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies e.g., VMWare vSphere and Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of data communications networking technologies, architectures, platforms, and protocols.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in ITIL.

Additional Requirements (depending on role):

  • Linux
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions: RedHat, Amazon Linux, CentOS
  • Ability to write scripts using languages such as Shell, Pyton, etc.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP
  • Windows
  • Knowledge of Windows versions: 2012 and above.

Required Technical Proficiencies:

  • Azure Fundamentals or above.
  • AWS Practitioner or above.
  • ITIL 4 Foundations

Language Skills:

  • English Level B2+
