Sales Manager

Location: Orrville, Ohio (On-Site)

$90K to $110k Salary

About the Role

Our client is seeking a high-impact Sales Manager to lead, coach, and grow our Business Development team. This is not a traditional management position focused solely on reporting metrics. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in outbound prospecting, sales coaching, and performance management.

The ideal candidate will lead from the front by developing sales talent, driving pipeline generation, and ensuring accountability across the team. This role offers a clear growth path into broader sales leadership responsibilities, including oversight of a full sales-cycle team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Sales Development Representative (SDR/BDR) team.
  • Drive consistent outbound prospecting activity through phone, email, and other outreach channels.
  • Coach team members on prospecting techniques, objection handling, and sales conversations.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly activity metrics to ensure performance goals are achieved.
  • Convert prospecting activity into qualified sales meetings and pipeline opportunities.
  • Conduct regular call reviews, pipeline inspections, and performance evaluations.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of accountability and execution.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement coaching and development plans.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to optimize lead generation strategies.
  • Address performance issues promptly and effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and pipeline generation.
  • Experience using phone-based sales outreach to secure meetings and opportunities.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must reside within a 45-minute commute of Orrville, Ohio.

Preferred

  • Prior experience leading a Sales Development or Business Development team.
  • Background in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or B2B services sales.
  • Experience in implementing sales processes and performance management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop top-performing sales professionals.
