Description
The Role: As a Quality Engineering Supervisor, you will join our Quality team and support daily operational excellence on the manufacturing floor. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving production quality, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee the Production Quality Engineering (QE) team and the Quality Assurance (QA) Metrology Lab to ensure in-process production and finished goods meet rigorous internal and external standards. Your Responsibilities: Lead and Develop Team: Supervise, mentor, and develop Production Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians. Coordinate daily assignments to support production schedules and minimize downtime. Production Floor Quality Oversight: Serve as the primary quality contact for production lines. Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process, ensuring timely identification, segregation, and disposition of non-conforming materials. Root Cause Analysis CAPA: Lead complex troubleshooting and failure analysis using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone). Implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Process Monitoring SPC: Analyze manufacturing metrics and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) on critical-to-quality characteristics to detect variation and prevent defects. Core Quality Tools: Oversee development and maintenance of PFMEA, Control Plans, and other risk assessments in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering. QA Lab Management: Manage daily operations of the QA Metrology Lab, ensuring safe practices, strong 5S standards, and efficient inspection throughput for first article, in-process, and final inspections. CMM Oversight: Partner with lab leadership to ensure accurate programming, operation, and interpretation of complex drawings using GD T. Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA): Lead Gage R R and MSA activities to validate measurement system accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility. Calibration Program: Ensure proper calibration of all inspection tools and lab equipment with full traceability to NIST standards. Audit Compliance: Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 as applicable) and maintain adherence to quality system requirements. Documentation Control: Develop and maintain quality work instructions, SOPs, and inspection standards through established document control processes. Continuous Improvement: Lead lean initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and lower Cost of Quality (COQ) across production and lab operations. Our Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality Management, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience). Experience: 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a high-stakes manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical device, or precision machining), with 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Quality Tools Expertise: Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP frameworks, including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC. Problem-Solving Skills: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred; demonstrated success resolving complex production issues. Technical Systems Knowledge: Experience with statistical software is a plus; proficient with ERP systems and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Communication: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Pay Rate: $95,000 - $110,000 salary
