The Program Manager, Curriculum Programs is responsible for the oversight, strategic coordination, and continuous improvement of designated curriculum programs within the MD program, including modules, longitudinal programs, and transition-based experiences.
This role operates at the workflow ownership level, ensuring that curriculum delivery is planned, coordinated, and executed effectively across programs, teams, and systems. The Program Manager translates curricular priorities into clear operational plans, timelines, and workflows, and ensures alignment across faculty, coordinators, and shared services.
The Program Manager serves as a key connector between curriculum leadership, faculty, and operational teams, ensuring that curriculum programs—including modules, milestone weeks, and longitudinal experiences—run efficiently and consistently. This position reports to the Pre-Clerkship Curriculum Manager and partners closely with curriculum leadership, program staff, and institutional stakeholders.
1. Portfolio Oversight & Operational Planning
- Oversee assigned curriculum components (e.g., modules, longitudinal programs, milestone weeks) and classroom instructional sessions.
- Translate academic plans into operational timelines, workplans, and execution frameworks.
- Ensure operational readiness across all components (schedule, materials, staffing, space, technology, assessments) through effective planning, coordination and delegation
- Identify risks to delivery and implement mitigation strategies proactively
2. Workflow Design, Standardization, and Continuous Improvement
- Design, document, and refine standard operating procedures, workflows, and templates across pre-clerkship operations
- Identify inefficiencies, duplication, or gaps and implement scalable solutions
- Partner with the Curriculum Manager and Director to align workflows across portfolios and teams
- Support implementation of Model A structures (portfolio clarity, tiered work, shared services)
3. Coordination of Curriculum Delivery
- Oversee coordination of course and session logistics across the portfolio, ensuring effective planning, alignment and execution of :
- Materials preparation and distribution
- Faculty and preceptor coordination
- Room and learning environment readiness (in partnership with Lab/EdTech teams)
- Assessment and evaluation execution
- Ensure seamless coordination between program teams and shared services
4. Team Coordination & Delegation
- Provide direction and oversight to Program Coordinators and support staff
- Delegate work aligned to coordinators
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting and escalation of operational issues
- Support onboarding, training, and development of coordinators
5. Faculty & Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as a primary operational partner to Module Directors and faculty
- Translate faculty needs into clear operational plans and workflows
- Ensure consistent communication of timelines, expectations, and requirements
- Build strong working relationships across departments, Student Affairs, Registrar, and other institutional partners
6. Governance & Information Flow
- Ensure decisions, action items, and changes are documented, tracked, and operationalized
- Act as a conduit between faculty decision-making bodies and operational teams
7. Financial & Resource Coordination
- In partnership with Lab and Learning environment align resource planning (staffing, space, supplies) with curricular needs
- Contribute to forecasting and efficient allocation of operational resources
8. Coverage & Operational Continuity
- Serve as backup to the Pre-Clerkship Curriculum Manager as needed
- Ensure continuity of operations through cross-training, documentation, and coverage planning
- Contribute to development of a coverage matrix and staffing model
- Bachelor?s degree required; Master?s degree preferred (education, healthcare administration, or related field)
Minimum Experience
- 3?5 years of experience in academic operations, medical education, or complex program coordination
- Experience managing projects, workflows, or teams in a multi-stakeholder environment
