Purpose

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for completing assigned functions within the department. This position will be responsible for issuing Accounts Receivable invoices, processing Accounts Payables, as well as reconciliations of consignment inventory within Great Plains. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for completing assigned work in a timely and accurate manner. This position involves tight deadlines. This individual must have a basic knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, be organized, be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently, and demonstrate the ability to follow through with action plans with oversight from the manager.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

1. Area of Focus – Accounts Receivable

1. Issue invoices for outside warehouse orders and drop ship orders
2. Reconcile, manage, and invoice consignment customer inventory and usage
3. Set up New Customer accounts

2. Secondary Area of Focus – Accounts Payable

1. Process supplier invoices for material receipts
2. Research price discrepancies

3. Other Duties

1. Assist with month end reporting and reconciliations.
2. Prepare requested reports
3. Issue credit and debit memos to correct AR invoices
4. Back up Accounting Coordinator with Export invoicing.
5. Write procedures to document various accounting tasks

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

1. Education:
   1. Associates or higher in Accounting preferred. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree

2. Experience:
   1. Minimum 1 year of experience working in an accounting role within a corporate environment is preferred.

3. Language:
   1. Proficiency in English required
