About the Role
To support financial analysis, valuation, pricing, and management reporting, ensuring accurate and timely actuarial outputs aligned with business and regulatory requirements. The role includes developing and enhancing actuarial models, improving process efficiency, and delivering insights that drive business performance, while collaborating closely with the team. S/he need to possess strong analytical skills and solid knowledge of actuarial principles and practices.Roles and Responsibilities:
Valuation and Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly actuarial valuation.
- Support IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare reserve movement and variance analysis.
- Assist in audit and regulatory queries.
Business Planning and Forecasting
- Support projections of financial results for business planning, stress testing and capital management exercises.
- Collaboration with Finance, and Channel teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and methodologies.
Experience Study
- Perform operating and economic experience studies.
- Analyze emerging experience and identify trends.
- Recommend assumption updates where appropriate.
Product Pricing and Profitability Analysis
- Support product development and pricing exercises by building and testing actuarial models.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario testing to assess profitability and risk under various assumptions.
- Prepare pricing documentation and ensure compliance with internal governance, actuarial standard and regulation requirements.
Reinsurance
- Prepare reinsurance premium and claim calculations.
- Support treaty renewal discussions.
- Analyze reinsurance experience and profitability.
Process Improvement and Model Development
- Maintain and enhance actuarial models and automation tools (Prophet, Excel and etc)
- Streamline data flow and automate reports to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Participate in model validation and audit exercises.
Capital, Risk Management and Compliance:
- Support solvency monitoring and capital projections.
- Assist in stress testing and scenario analysis.
- Ensure all actuarial processes compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, actuarial standards and company policies
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Support preparation of documentation for internal audit and peer review.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, marketing, and product development, reinsurance to support business initiatives.
- Present analytical results and insights clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with external partners, including reinsurers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a Economics related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the actuarial field.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance products, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in actuarial software and advanced Excel modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to motivate and mentor junior team member.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
