Position Purpose:
We are seeking a confident and credible mid- to senior-level communications professional to lead and develop our internal communications strategy. This role is pivotal in informing, engaging, and inspiring our diverse workforce across multiple countries, aligning messaging with strategic priorities, fostering a culture of collaboration and belonging, and building a growing network of internal advocates.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, guiding strategic initiatives and ensuring transparent and consistent messaging for all levels of the organisation. Your work will build strong colleague engagement by delivering a steady flow of meaningful and impactful communications tactics, through timely and clear messaging, compelling storytelling and smart use of formats and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a company-wide, internal communications strategy aligned with business priorities, to engage all employees, build trust, deliver clarity and provide connection, that goes beyond simple tactical delivery.
- Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders on internal messaging and engagement.
- Be a credible and reliable business partner to key Corporate Function leaders and teams.
- Use clear storytelling to link colleague contributions to business strategy and bring our values to life.
- Ensure all content aligns with our corporate narrative, messaging and tone of voice.
- Manage and produce high-quality, engaging content for all channels, including live events, ensuring maximum reach and participation, and includes on- and off-line colleagues.
- Oversee the internal communications ecosystem/ infrastructure strategy.
- Partner with other Corporate Communications team members to ensure 360-degree communications seamlessly integrated across all channels.
- Lead communications and support change management during business transformations and restructures through intentional, comprehensive and empathetic communication planning.
- Support crisis and issue communications by working closely with the External Communications Senior Manager to maintain protocols, planning and readiness.
- Mentor and guide other communications colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence, delivery and innovation.
- Develop a ‘syndicate and amplify’ country / site communications concept, to ensure better local cascading of critical messages and concepts; engage and coach Country communicators to ensure alignment and best practice sharing.
- With a mindset of continuous improvement, establish KPIs and use data, feedback and industry best practice to assess and measure impact, and to evolve and improve.
- Champion contemporary tools and methodologies, including AI-enabled approaches to enhance effectiveness.
Qualifications, required skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a mid- to senior-level internal communications role within large, complex, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic internal communications programmes that drive engagement and business alignment.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior leaders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to be resilient and quickly pivot.
- Experience of defining and executing internal communications strategies during periods of significant change.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build strong relationships across all levels. A collaborative and inclusive approach.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with a wide range of communications platforms and tools, ideally including AI-driven solutions.
- Native-level English proficiency; other European language skills an advantage.
- Experience of operating within the Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
