Business Analyst - Data & Analytics

Sysco LABS’ enterprise technology is present in the end-to-end foodservice journey, enabling the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network and the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer. 

The Opportunity

We are currently on the lookout for a Business Analyst – Data & Analytics to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for analytics, reporting, and data-driven initiatives
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, KPIs, and reporting requirements that support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar BI tools to deliver clear and actionable insights
• Perform data analysis using SQL to validate business rules, investigate trends, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of reporting outputs.
• Work with stakeholders to define key metrics, performance indicators, and visualization strategies that effectively communicate business performance.
• Identify patterns, anomalies, and business drivers within datasets and provide insights to support business planning and optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and technical teams to ensure data sources and reporting solutions meet business requirements
• Apply best practices in data visualization and dashboard design, ensuring reports are intuitive, performant, and aligned with user needs.
• Support the adoption and evolution of AI-enabled Business Intelligence (AI4BI) capabilities, helping integrate advanced analytics and AI-driven insights to dashboard solutions.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative development of analytics solutions.
• Monitor and address data quality issues or reporting discrepancies, working with technical teams to ensure reliable and trusted data.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validation of reporting solutions to ensure outputs meet business and functional requirements.
• Present analytical findings and dashboards to business stakeholders and leadership, supporting informed decision-making.
• Maintain documentation for data definitions, reporting logic, and BI solutions to support transparency, governance, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Business Analytics / Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with strong technical exposure or a related field.
• Degrees with professional certifications such as CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), ACCA, CIM
• 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar role in data or technology projects.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Experience working with data warehouses, ETL processes, APIs, and data integration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience working with Agile / Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders, developers, and data engineers.
• Experience in financial or operational data environments is a plus.
