Description

Wood is currently sourcing an E&I Engineer to support the Engineering Hub in Aberdeen for a duration of 6 months.

The E&I Engineer reporting to EICT lead will be member of PDE Project Management Team, working collaboratively within the PDE organisation, systems, procedures, and methods. Responsible for ensuring the availability of all electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems for commissioning.

Maintains daily contact with the FPSO construction, MC and commissioning team.

Responsible and accountable towards PDE for providing technical support within Project towards EICT discipline. Ensuring that all relevant work internal and external in these disciplines related to the Project is executed to meet project requirement.

One of the main activities of E&I Engineer is to provide engineering support to yard work towards construction, MC and commissioning related activities for overhaul, demolition, construction, installation, inspection, and hookup work related to EICT discipline.

  • Responsible for providing technical support within the profession to engineering, construction, MC and commissioning. This includes being familiar with relevant rules, regulations, and standards applicable for the area of responsibility
  • Ensure that all activities, for which he/she is responsible, are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, and the Management System Manual. In particular the health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment and equipment shall be taken care of
  • Planning, coordinating, and ensuring execution of an appropriate response to all project E & I issue
  • Liaise with Construction, MC, commissioning, E&I Superintendent and Engineering team
  • Providing E & I solutions, undertaking investigations and recommending system improvements. Investigating and recommending systems enhancement solutions in conjunction with the engineering department
  • Ensuring that management is made aware of all potential HS&E issues and business threats as early as is practical
  • Providing support to lead EICT and any other elements of the company as requested
  • Regularly reviews the performance of third-party contractors
  • Represent Engineering at Yard and take a lead in resolving any action, Punch, Query etc. raise at yard toward Engineering for EICT discipline
  • Ensure that all activities, for which he/she is responsible, are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, and Governing documentation e.g. philosophies and specifications
  • Define, review, participate or lead modifications and project work within area of responsibility
  • Contribute to experience transfer within the company
  • Actively take part in improvement of work procedures in order to optimise work processes
  • Participate in discipline checks on modifications and new revisions of relevant drawings and operations manuals
  • Liaison with Classification and Regulatory bodies as required
  • Perform any other activities assigned by EICT lead
  • Technical education on bachelor level or higher within Electrical engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Strong relevant experience within engineering disciplines along with site support experience
  • Recent experience of working on modification projects and / or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired
  • Recent experience of working in a similar role on UK North Sea projects will be an advantage
  • Strong & interpersonal skills applied to a multidisciplined project team
  • Recent relevant experience in middle east / southeast Asian shipyards is an advantage
