Description

VP, Corporate Development

Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (Currently 2 Days/Week at St. Clair Office in Toronto)

Overview:

Andromeda is an operating group within Constellation Software Inc., one of the world’s most successful acquirers of vertical market software businesses. The group focuses on identifying and acquiring high-quality software companies and supporting their long-term growth through a decentralized operating model.

We are seeking a highly analytical and high-urgency sales leader to architect and lead a 15+ person, high-velocity outbound origination engine.

In this role, you will be responsible for turning M&A deal sourcing into a predictable revenue machine, treating proprietary deal flow with the same operational rigor as a high-growth SaaS company applies to new logo acquisition.

As a metrics-obsessed leader, you will leverage funnel math, pipeline mechanics, and strict CRM hygiene to build a high-velocity engine capable of enabling $100M in annual capital deployment by 2028. This position is designed for a performance-driven professional who thrives on coaching a multi-tier team to "hunt" at scale and meeting aggressive deployment goals through systematic discipline and accountability.

Core Responsibilities: Pipeline Mechanics & Rigor

  • Pipeline Engineering: Move beyond "networking" to "mechanics". You will break down capital deployment goals into precise funnel math: Targets → Outreach → Initial Meetings → Qualified Leads → LOIs.
  • Operational Leadership: Establish a high-urgency culture with daily activity expectations, weekly sprints, and ruthless CRM management. If it isn't in the CRM, it didn't happen.
  • Team Coaching & Inspection: Manage a multi-tier BD organization, including junior lead generators and senior relationship managers. You will conduct "call reviews," message audits, and objection-handling workshops while holding middle management accountable for quality and volume.
  • AI & Tech Stack Optimization: Lead the implementation of AI-driven enrichment, automated sequencing, and predictive lead scoring to increase outbound capacity by 2–3x.
  • Market & Buy Box Mastery: Use data to sharpen our Ideal Company Profile (ICP) and identify high-probability sub-verticals. You are responsible for ensuring that ≥95% of deals entering the "Red Zone" comply with our Buy Box.
  • Trip & Trade Show ROI: Oversee a program of annual research trips and trade shows, ensuring each trip meets specific meeting and NDA generation targets.

Key Outcomes (12–18 Month Scorecard):

The VP will be held accountable to the following 2026 team-level targets for the 15-person BD org:

  • Deployment: Achieve ≥$50M of sourced capital deployed in 2026 through system discipline.
  • Scaling: Design a roadmap to quadruple our leads by 2028
  • Forecasting: Maintain a rolling 90-day weighted pipeline forecast with ±10–15% accuracy.

The Ideal Profile:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience leading high-performance sales teams at a software company or start-up (e.g., Enterprise Sales Director, PE Origination Lead, or GTM Leader), with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining “A players”
  • Mindset: A "Pipeline Mechanic" who sees the market as a territory to be conquered through systematic outreach and value-proposition iteration.

Competencies:

  • Expertise in sales tech stacks (Salesforce, Outreach/Sales loft, AI enrichment tools).
  • Deep experience in SDR/BDR management and coaching.
  • Fluency in "Funnel Math"—knowing exactly how many touches it takes to reach a signed LOI.
  • Prior experience designing and implementing performance-aligned incentive and commission structures to drive acquisition growth and team motivation
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with confidence and polish to speak with senior executives and business intermediaries
  • Very well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work variable hours.
  • Extraordinary work ethic and a proactive sense of urgency.
  • Highly analytical
  • Acts with professionalism, and as a culture carrier for Andromeda

Operational Cadence:

You will be expected to install and lead the following rituals:

  • Daily: Activity scorecards and CRM hygiene checks.
  • Weekly: Pipeline reviews, inspection of qualification rigor, and coaching sessions.
  • Monthly: Monthly M&A target reviews (e.g., meaningful contacts, NDAs signed, etc.), market coverage analysis and Buy Box compliance audits.

Salary Range (Ontario & BC Only):

The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$180,000.00 - CAD$220,000.00 per year. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job-related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations.
