As part of Honeywell’s growth journey as a best-in-class, pure-play automation technology company, we are hiring a Communications Senior Specialist for Germany, based in one of our Germany hub offices in Frankfurt, Ratingen or Berlin (hybrid working pattern).
The role: The position is focused on telling our brand story to internal and external audiences in Germany, while also supporting wider communications campaigns across the Europe region.
The Communications Sr. Specialist will play a critical role in the development and execution of an enterprise‑aligned integrated communications program that builds awareness, deepens understanding and inspires action across internal and external audiences.
This is a hands on, individual contributor role suitable for a seasoned comms professional with preferably 8-10 years’ in house experience at a large, matrixed B2B organization. They will bring outstanding written communications skills with fluency in both English and German, along with a proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, with rapidly shifting priorities.
Deep experience in B2B media relations is a must, with ability to convert complex technologies and issues into impactful stories that engage and inspire. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the political, economic and industrial technological shifts taking place in Germany and across Europe. They will be skilled in mapping industry stories to broader trends, leveraging their contact book of industry, business and economic media to help tell our growth story externally.
The successful candidate will be well versed in internal communications programs, proficient in internal comms tools including Poppulo and VivaEngage to connect with and engage geographically disperse employee groups, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a broader team. They will also have experience in working executive social media campaigns to profile and position leaders and the company on core industry topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a holistic internal and external corporate communications strategy in Germany, and support communications activities across Europe.
- Execute communications programs including internal comms and executive social support for our Industrial Automation and Process Automation businesses.
- Develop and drive media programs that are strongly linked to business strategy and regional industry trends.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key reporters/media and manage media inquiries and interview requests.
- Develop and deploy new, innovative tactics to deliver compelling messaging to employees across the business.
- Support major initiatives, organization transitions, leadership changes, and other transformation steps through innovative and effective communication plans that address the needs of varied audiences and stakeholders.
- Oversee and develop content for press releases, bylined articles, key messages, media statements, Q&A documents, and briefings.
- Champion AI within the Communications space.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Success Factors:
- Strong contact list of German trade and general media, with proven record of successfully pitching news stories/ideas, managing journalist inquiries and ensuring our external stakeholders get the information they need in a clear, timely way.
- Strong (AP style) writing skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise messages that align closely with corporate messaging.
- Ability to identify issues proactively and execute actions to eliminate or minimize their potential impact.
- Excellent project management and the ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Intimate understanding of social media, especially LinkedIn, and an advanced understanding of how best to leverage channels such as Viva Engage to promote employee engagement.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build and navigate relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Prior experience working in a large, complex international company.
