Description

BIG has grown significantly in scale and complexity over the past years, and we are now looking for a Global Finance Director to help lead the upgrade of our global finance function. Working closely with the CFO, this role will strengthen financial operations across offices, integrate finance more closely with project economy and project controlling, and help create smarter, more efficient ways of working through digitalization, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
We are looking for a high-energy finance leader who is curious, hands-on, and motivated by understanding what works, what needs to evolve, and how to bring people with them through change. This is a role for someone who can lead and motivate teams across countries and time zones while acting as a strong day-to-day operational leader and trusted sparring partner to the CFO.
The Global Finance Director will have people responsibility for managing our global Finance Operations team, which currently consists of 8 colleagues, who cover the disciplines of accounting, bookkeeping and payroll. Finance operates as a shared service center for the group and the company's subsidiaries. On a day-to-day basis, the Global Finance Director will be responsible for financial reporting, overseeing and controlling the financial information as well as development and communication of key financial figures to global financial management.
The Global Finance Director will play a key role in supporting the organization in ad hoc financial challenges. Since BIG is an energetic and ambitious workplace it requires a dynamic, confident, proactive and organized individual and team player to keep up with a fast-paced and changeable environment.
You will be working from the Copenhagen office and will report to our CFO, who is also based in Copenhagen.
In addition to the role of Global Finance Director, the team is expanding to include a Tax Manager, who will report directly to the Global Finance Director.
Primary Responsibilities:

Team leadership and management
Responsible for the members of the Finance team including shared services and local finance teams in New York, London and Barcelona.
Financial strategy
Reporting to the CFO lead conversations on setting financial goals including growth, profitability, investment, risk reduction and cost control and designing ways to achieve these in each office.
Budgeting and forecasting
Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow planning, and financial scenarios to increase clarity about future scenarios.
Reporting and performance management
Ensure financial reports are accurate and useful. Interface with CFO, CEO, local leadership teams to explain revenue, profit, margins, costs, cash position, and key business drivers
Controls, compliance, and risk
Oversee accounting standards, audits, tax, internal controls, governance, and financial risk management. Work closely with Legal, People & Culture, and external auditors.
Business partnering
Interface with Managing Directors and C-levels to advise on commercial decisions: pricing, hiring, investments, contracts, and operational efficiency.
We expect a Finance Director who is commercially minded and along side their strong focus on the financial reporting also pays attention to utilization rates, revenue forecasting, cash collection, office performance and overhead control.
The ideal candidate:
To be able to perform this job successfully, it is a prerequisite that you have strong accounting and service-minded skills and have a solution-oriented approach to the challenges you face. You have good communication skills and are fluent in Danish and English, both verbally and in writing. You are a general practitioner and should thrive on solving the tasks yourself. You also have solid Excel and Navision skills. You have a minimum of 8 years experience as Finance Director, Manager or similar role as described above. You have a relevant accounting education such as Cand. Merc. or similar. You have recently developed your experience in using AI to optimize efficiencies and accuracies in financial planning, reporting and oversight and bring this experience with you. Business travels between our international offices will occur.
