To establish and implement outcome orientated employment strategies that maximize an individual’s readiness for community-based employment. Work in conjunction with various funding agencies and RTR internal team to promote work readiness. Assist the department with job procurement, program development, scheduling and coverage as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

● Oversee the Career Services department. This includes referrals for MRC/DDS, SEP sites, and in-house communications, training, and meetings, as they apply to employment, to streamline the process with a goal of competitive employment for individuals attending our CBDS programs and those referred through MRC/DDS.

● Works with Career Specialists on intakes, scheduling and coordinating referrals and follow up with active cases.

● Supervision of all department staff including staff meetings, supervision meetings, annual evaluations, and tracking mandated training.

● Work with Career Specialists to ensure opportunities for individuals with disabilities have the ability to participate in vocational evaluations by way of SEP sites and other community resources.

● Work with employment team members to focus on obtaining outcome-based goals while expanding contacts and business with MRC, DDS and local school systems.

● Track placement referrals and purchase orders, increase business contacts, and assist with interviews and job coaching as needed.

● Responsible for completing all monthly/quarterly/annual reports in accordance with MRC and DDS guidelines.

● Attend all mandatory MRC/DDS meetings with prepared data and budget information.

● Submit department payroll.

● Submit department individual monthly attendance and billing.

● Work with the VP of Day Services and the finance office to adhere and maximize income/revenue goals.

● Adhere to agency safety protocols.

● Provide on-the-job training and supervision to individuals in a 1:1 or group format at community-based, business locations, and OPTS (day program) centers. Any of these sites, including SEP community sites businesses, may be equipped with surveillance cameras and you may be videotaped during your time there.


● Cooperate and interact with co-workers, members, volunteers, and funders in a collaborative, courteous, empathic, and professional manner. Demonstrate willingness and ability to be part of a team effort.

● Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Additional duties may include but are not limited to clearing snow and ice from walkways, vehicles, parking lots, and roads using equipment like shovels and snow blowers while applying deicing agents to ensure safety.

● Adhere to all RTR policies and procedures.

● Develop and provide all services in accordance with RTR’s philosophies including staff and Board beliefs.

● Provide transportation to individuals using their own vehicle and/or agency vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required. Five years’ experience in vocational rehabilitation and two years’ management experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.
  • Need to be flexible with schedule.
  • Successful completion of all state and agency mandated training.
  • Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community.
