The Senior Accountant should oversee and ensure all financial and accounting operations within the Finance Department are run smoothly, and in line with agreed guidelines and frameworks. This also entails supervising and managing finance team, actively mentor and ensure achievement of KPIs. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in rolling out migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing all end to end FINOPS processes of the company

Manage the working capital environment.

Ensure all financial transactions are processed timely and accurately.

Maintain integrity of data processed in the accounting system.

Be a subject matter expert across all areas under the company Finance responsibility and assist in resolving any issues or queries.

Standardize and simplify processes in view of efficiency gains.

Assist the Head of Finance in RPA projects.

Ensure the effectiveness and correctness of the accounts filing system.

Drive and report on business and finance controlling activities.

Supervise the finance team, with aim to continuously develop and improve the existing personnels.

Perform budget activities timely and assist in reviewing activities with other departments.

Drive improvements to reporting and analysis activities.

Consolidate the working capital environment for African entities.

Assist the Head of Finance in driving accounting related migration projects.

Conduct such other cognate duties as may be assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Accounting & Finance (or Equivalent)

Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.

Good communication skills in both English and French

At least 5 years of experience in an Accounting function or in a similar position.

Knowledge

Knowledge of logistics industry will be a proven advantage.

Proficiency in Ms Excel / Word / Powerpoint

Experience in ERP or Accounting Software
