This position is required to work on-site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month. And, we offer half-day Fridays – every Friday!
We are looking for an experienced, relationship-focused Talent Acquisition Manager to help shape and lead our recruitment strategy. In this highly visible role, you will support our growing life and health insurance company in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with leadership to attract, engage, and hire talented professionals across the Chicago and Omaha areas, from entry-level roles through executive leadership positions. This role will also play an important part in supporting succession planning by helping to identify future talent needs, strengthen leadership pipelines, and ensure smooth transitions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop meaningful talent pipelines for key insurance roles at all levels, up to and including executive leadership, with a focus on claims, customer service, management, underwriting, finance, compliance, and actuarial positions.
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Guide the recruitment process from start to finish, including intake meetings, job postings, interview coordination, background screening, and offer discussions.
- Interview Strategy: Partner with hiring managers to develop thoughtful interview questions and strategies. Coach the hiring team on best-practice interviewing techniques and selection processes that support consistent, effective candidate evaluation and informed hiring decisions.
- Executive Partnership: Serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership by sharing insights on Chicago-area and Omaha, NE market trends, talent availability, and competitive salary benchmarks.
- Succession Planning: Partner with HR and leadership to identify future talent needs, support internal development opportunities, and help build strong pipelines for key roles and leadership transitions.
- Employer Branding: Help strengthen GTL’s presence through LinkedIn and university partnerships, showcasing our company as a welcoming and rewarding place to build a career.
- ATS Ownership: Manage and enhance Paycom, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), to support accurate data, efficient processes, and a positive, compliant candidate experience.
- Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and share monthly talent acquisition metrics. Analyze recruiting data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that support thoughtful, informed hiring decisions.
- Onboarding Collaboration: Partner with the HR team to help selected candidates transition smoothly into onboarding and feel welcomed as they begin their employee experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 7+ years of recruitment experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Adaptability: Ability to stay organized, responsive, and collaborative in a fast-paced environment.
- Sourcing Skills: Demonstrated experience using advanced sourcing methods, including LinkedIn Recruiter, cold outreach, job boards, and career fairs.
- Systems Experience: HRIS and ATS experience required; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and professionally engage candidates, hiring managers, and executive stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Approachable, collaborative style with the ability to build positive working relationships across the organization.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of insurance operations preferred.
The pay range for this role is $118,000 - $130,000. The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
