Job Requirements
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth in Power & Energy applications by identifying market opportunities and translating them into actionable business strategies. This role bridges strategy and execution, working closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams to expand market share and build a strong pipeline in China. Key focus areas include energy storage systems, power conversion, power infrastructure, and related electrification applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop deep understanding of Power & Energy applications in China and globally, including energy storage systems, power conversion, power infrastructure, and related electrification segments
Conduct market and application analysis to identify target customers, competitors, and priority opportunities
Define and drive target account strategies, including key customers, programs, and design-in opportunities
Translate market insights into actionable commercial plans and go-to-market strategies
Work closely with Sales to drive pipeline creation, customer engagement, and opportunity conversion
Develop sales enablement materials such as playbooks, value propositions, and competitive positioning tools
Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to identify product gaps and support roadmap development
Track and manage opportunities in CRM, ensuring clear ownership and progression
Support customer workshops, technical discussions, and engagement activities to improve win rates
Provide regular updates on pipeline status, risks, and recommended actions
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in business development, product management, sales engineering, or related roles
Experience in power, energy, electrification, or industrial sectors preferred
Strong understanding of China market dynamics and customer landscape
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization
Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
