POSITION SUMMARY

Blue Mountain Plastics Recycling is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician / Inspector to support quality control operations within our rPET recycling facility (recycled PET plastic -polyethylene terephthalate), This role ensures finished rPET flakes meet internal, customer, and regulatory specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform flake quality testing including contamination identification and PPM calculation.
• Conduct flake bake tests, pH differential tests, moisture testing, IV testing, metal detection verification, and flake sizing tests.
• Calibrate and verify QA equipment including pH meters and Sesotec Flake Purifiers/ VARISORTS.
• Accurately record QA results in Data Management Systems and QA logs.
• Identify non-conforming material, initiate retests, and place material on HOLD when required.
• Communicate quality issues to Production Supervisors and QA leadership.
• Maintain QA lab cleanliness and follow all safety and PPE requirements.

Education/Skills/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in QA, manufacturing, or laboratory environments
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Plastics, recycling, or polymer experience preferred
• Laboratory or chemical testing experience preferred

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for extended period
• Ability to lift moderate weights
• Work in production and laboratory environments
• Mandatory use of PPE
