POSITION SUMMARY:
MARSHALLTOWN U.S.A. LTD is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to own and grow MARSHALLTOWN’s relationships with the UK’s major national retail and trade-multiple accounts across the trade-counter, DIY/home-improvement, and specialist retail channels. This position is responsible for head-office buyer relationships, range and listing development, joint business planning, promotional strategy, and sell-through performance management across both in-store and online channels. The role works directly with merchant and category teams to grow distribution, sell-through, and profitability, and provides input to annual and long-range sales and marketing plans. The Regional Sales Manager should have a “customer first” mentality while delivering on company sales objectives, profitability goals, and striving to optimize efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Own head-office relationships and the full selling cycle for the UK’s national retail and trade-multiple accounts across the trade-counter, DIY/home-improvement, and specialist retail channels.
- Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and annual range and promotional plans for each account.
- Lead range reviews and new product listings, building compelling, data-supported line proposals.
- Build and manage promotional calendars and trade investment to grow sell-through profitably.
- Analyze POS and sell-through data to identify ranging, replenishment, and growth opportunities.
- Lead negotiations for trading terms, rebates, SBA’s, price increases, and manage supplier fines and compliance.
- Partner with the Ecommerce, Amazon, and MARSHALLTOWN.com teams to align online content, ranging, and pricing for accounts that trade across channels.
- Collaborate with MARSHALLTOWN U.K. operations and the U.S. internal team to determine accurate forecasting, inventory availability, and on-time, in-full delivery.
- Ensure retailer portal and EDI compliance and resolve commercial and supply chain issues quickly.
- Monitor and communicate market trends, own-label developments, and competitor activity to support MARSHALLTOWN’s strategy in the U.K.
- Provide regular reviews of sales metrics and overall activities to senior leadership and customers.
- Other duties and project work as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven national account manager with a minimum of 4 years of sales experience and a minimum of 3 years calling on major U.K. retail or trade multiples (e.g., DIY sheds, trade counters, specialist retail).
- Demonstrated success building Joint Business Plans and winning range and listing decisions at major U.K. retailers.
- Proven ability to negotiate trading terms, rebates, SBA’s, price increases, and fines.
- Analytical mindset; fluent with POS, sell-through analysis, and retailer reporting and portals.
- Knowledge of hand tools, building/construction products, or tiling/decorating categories strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and head-office presentation skills.
- Ability to present to Senior Leadership at customers and MARSHALLTOWN.
- Develop collaborative monthly sales forecasts with the Accounts for review with management and implementation with operations.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and margin objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail and superior planning and project management skills.
- Able to work in a team environment but at the same time be a self-starter.
- Willingness to travel to customer head offices and trade shows; up to 50% travel required. Some US travel required.
