Job Overview:
The Production Engineer (EIT) applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Production problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Production Engineer understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Meet the project and organizational objectives as an interface between engineering, procurement & construction.
- Manage to coordinate with engineering, SCM, detail design, fabrication, hook-up and marine team on different phases of a project.
- Understands critical business drivers and applies knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
- Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications; understand the requirements and deliverables.
- Coordinate & follow up with QMW & McDermott engineering team for timely release of engineering deliverables aligned to construction sequence.
- Keeping track of technical/site queries and follow up for timely resolution.
- Coordinate and follow up with package managers and expeditors for timely delivery of project
- Participate in constructability review meetings and provide proposal/inputs during different phases.
- Prepare constructability lessons learned log for Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecommunication discipline and distribute to engineering, and Fab team to adhere to for avoiding issues that have occurred on previous projects.
- Proactively monitor Yard matrix along with 4 week/6 week look ahead plans to resolve any anticipated roadblocks.
- Review six weeks look ahead plans and identify the constraints (material / drawings) and notify to concerned stakeholders for action.
- Monitor and validate the yard deliverables need dates and ensure MDR functions are aligned for delivery.
- Review QMW revision orders to identify whether it falls in VO category for further validation.
- Review, monitor and assess any VO work given to QMW to validate work done and resources utilized.
- Coordinating with other departments (FSE, CSE, Marine, Hookup) for providing the required inputs are timely available for execution.
- Effectively monitor, coordinate & contribute to achieve project Milestones for successful sail away from QMW yard.
- Asist the construction interface manager and provide continual inputs by identifying the bottlenecks in advance and resolve the issues by liaising with Engineering and procurement.
- Support and drive timely discipline related MC (Mechanical Completions) aligned to PCC (Pre-Comm).
- Support MDR Free issues Materials inspections upon delivery as required.
- Liaise / consult and provide support to NOC Client as required on various fabrication related topics.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
- Familiar with the content and application of API RP2A, AISC, and AWS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities
