GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates the services of assigned program; coordinates and acts as liaison between assigned program area, department directors, and other stakeholders. Employees in this classification supervise the work of professional, technical, and clerical staff and do other work as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizes and manages assigned program area and member services for the assigned program.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of the assigned program, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participates with Directors in the planning, implementation, and on-going evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the program’s members’ care and support services.
  • Ensures that assigned staff are providing services that are evidence-based and clinically appropriate for the population being served.
  • Ensures that the clinical needs of the members are being met, and that their concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Conducts staff meetings and in-service training to promote, communicate and initiate established policies and procedures and to monitor program activities and their effectiveness.
  • Advises staff in clinical professional and/or administrative matters.
  • In collaboration with HR, interviews, selects, hires, and evaluates professional and support staff.
  • Oversees the proper orientation, development, and supervision of all assigned program staff.
  • Maintains an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance.
  • This position requires the ability and mobility to perform physical de-escalation techniques as necessary, and to take and pass a physical de-escalation exam. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist: to lift, carry, push, and/or pull a moderate amount of weight.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the general nature of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certification - None
  • Experience – Two (2) years’ behavioral health experience required. Prior supervisory experience highly preferred.

REGULATORY:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
  • Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).
