Core Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain the company's core data platform and innovative data solutions.
- Design, construct, and automate robust, modern data pipelines and real-time data streams.
- Develop and manage data models and schemas to facilitate efficient data integration and analysis.
- Proactively monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, data stewards, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure high data quality and accuracy by performing rigorous data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
- Evaluate the performance and suitability of new data tools and technologies against business requirements.
- Contribute to related data initiatives, including data quality improvements and data education programs.
Required Qualifications
- Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in data engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks or Azure Synapse.
- Strong programming skills in a data-focused language (e.g., PySpark, Python, R, Java, Scala).
- Proven experience designing and deploying data applications on cloud solutions, specifically Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong data-driven mindset.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Advantages)
- Professional certification, such as Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Knowledge of the wider Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Event Hub) or Power BI.
- Experience in performance tuning and code optimization within Azure Databricks or Synapse.
- Experience preparing data for data science and machine learning models.
- Familiarity with DataOps principles.
- Prior experience working as part of a distributed global team.
