Description
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Bank) is Australia’s leading provider of integrated financial services. Within Financial Crime Services (FCS), we play a critical role in protecting our customers and communities by detecting, deterring and disrupting financial crime.
This role sits within Financial Crime Operations (FCO) Capability, a team responsible for uplifting the capability of Financial Crime analysts to operate effectively in a highly regulated, risk-sensitive environment.
FCO Capability partners closely with operations, risk, QA and domain teams to design and deliver solutions that strengthen analyst judgement, improve decision quality and support safe, compliant customer outcomes.
See yourself in our team
As a Learning Partner in FCO Capability, you will act as the critical link between the business and capability teams—ensuring learning solutions are aligned to operational priorities, risk drivers and performance outcomes.
You will work across key Financial Crime domains including:
- Know Your Customer (KYC)
- Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD)
- Transaction Monitoring
- Sanctions and Financial Crime Investigations
You’ll lead the identification of capability gaps and partner with Learning Designers to deliver solutions that improve analyst performance, decision making and readiness.
Do work that matters
As a Learning Partner in FCO Capability, you will:
- Partner with operational leaders and SMEs to understand performance challenges, risk drivers and business priorities
- Translate business needs into clear capability problems, success measures and solution approaches
- Conduct learning needs analysis, identifying gaps across knowledge, skills, process, systems and behaviour
- Define and prioritise high-impact interventions aligned to risk, QA insights, and regulatory expectations
- Collaborate with Learning Designers to shape fit-for-purpose, scalable learning solutions
- Ensure solutions are aligned to real-world workflows, decision points and operational risk scenarios
- Establish success measures and evaluation frameworks, linking learning to performance outcomes (e.g. quality, productivity, error reduction)
- Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data, QA trends, and stakeholder insights
- Influence stakeholders to embed learning into ways of working, coaching and performance rhythms
- Contribute to standard ways of working across FCO Capability, including governance, prioritisation and planning
- Fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- Strong performance consulting expertise, with experience translating business problems into capability solutions
- Experience across the end-to-end learning lifecycle, from needs analysis through to evaluation
- Ability to operate in complex, risk or compliance-driven environments (Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance or Banking preferred)
- Experience working with data and insights (e.g. QA findings, performance metrics) to inform decision-making
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Experience using human-centred design approaches to identify needs and shape solutions
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- Experience aligning learning solutions to quality frameworks, audit requirements or regulatory outcomes
