Product Testing Engineering Intern

Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a 2026 summer student intern to join our Product Engineering department!
About This Role…
The Heavy Duty Product Engineering team is looking for a summer intern who enjoys hands-on work and practical experience! This role will involve collaborating with the Engineering Testing Technician with various testing and reports to support innovation and quality across a wide range of our products.
Key Projects and Tasks
- Product Testing – Conduct performance and durability tests on current products, prototypes, and competitor products in our in-house testing lab! Gain hands-on experience with hand tools and equipment. Tasks involve work such as welding, hammering, grinding, cutting, ect.
- Product Installations – Learn how Flexco products integrate with different conveyor systems by performing real-world installations with a variety of hand tools.
- Data Reporting – Prepare detailed reports to track various testing metrics, analyze results, and manage the product testing queue to ensure efficient workflow and practice prioritizing multiple projects at once.
North American Internship Program
The Flexco Summer Internship Program has been designed to assist undergraduate students gain exposure to the Manufacturing Industry, provide hands-on experience in their field of interest, and develop professional skills for their future careers.
Interns at Flexco can expect to…
- Participate in 10-12 weeks of our immersive internship program,
- Experience the Flow of Flexco – weekly meetings with various departments across the business to understand the importance of their role and function within the organization,
- Join bi-weekly coffee chats with members of our Senior Leadership Team, hearing about their educational paths, career journeys, and gaining advice and wisdom,
- Take part in monthly workshops on resume writing, LinkedIn networking, interview do’s and don’ts, presentation skills, and Yellow Belt training,
- And showcase what you’ve learned with a capstone presentation at the end of the summer – highlight a large project/multiple projects you’ve worked on and share your experiences with Flexco’s values.
Requirements
- Full-time, on-site availability (40 hours/week)
- Currently enrolled in college/university with Fall 2026 registration confirmed
- Major in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
- Non-mechanical degree applicants with strong mechanical aptitude or experience in mechanical design will also be considered
Qualifications
- Preference given to applicants familiar with welding, woodworking, power tools, hand tools, and other manufacturing processes
- Experience with Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
