Position: Buyer, Food and Nutrition (G2)
Location: Vaudreuil, Quebec or Burlington/Oakville, Ontario (flexibility policy)
Status: 14-month contract (Maternity Leave Replacement)
We are currently looking for a Buyer that will be working under the supervision of our Product Market Manager for our Food and Nutrition group. The person sought will be responsible for a portfolio of suppliers and will be responsible for the profitable growth of their product portfolio. This is a 14-months contract to replace maternity leave.
As part of the Product Marketing team, this person will be charged with providing the commercial team with relevant market information. The Buyer plays a strategic role in driving market share by building strong relationships with Sales and Suppliers through timely market intelligence, competitive pricing, and effective negotiations.
This role ensures inventory optimization, profitability, and compliance with procurement protocols while proactively aligning supply with market demand. By acting as a key market liaison, the Buyer enables informed decision-making, service excellence, and sustainable portfolio growth.

Responsibilities include:
The Buyer is responsible for building trust with our sales team by providing up to date market information, relevant market pricing in a timely fashion with the goal of gaining market share for the portfolio.
- Maintain inventory within corporate targets
- Ensure that all inventory held is covered by back-to-back agreements, that buying decisions are in line with the procurement protocol
- Negotiate appropriate terms in line with the business needs of the product line
- Negotiate the best possible pricing and terms with each of the suppliers in the portfolio, ensuring that we can offer competitive pricing in the market
- Provide timely pricing and technical information to the sales team
- Provide suppliers with the relevant information needed to understand the Canadian market, share opportunities with them and determine together which are the best targets to close
- Monitor the profitability of all transactions for the portfolio and adjusting on an as needed
- Maintain good communication with suppliers to ensure you are aware of their needs and market conditions that are affecting them
- Monitor the service levels provided to us, and give feedback as needed
- Closely monitor customer product demand and pro-actively adjust inventory and procurement levels as needed
- Placing replenishment orders with suppliers
- Inventory control and monitoring
- Run and analyze several systems generated reports
- Data entries in different platforms (SAP, Oracle / JD Edwards, Excel, etc.)
- Ensure the quality of the product and the respect of the quantities to be delivered
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Have a post-secondary diploma or college diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement or any related field
- Strong negotiating skills
- Detail oriented, multi-functional with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Have acquired strong computer skills (ideally with a CRM like Salesforce and be able to work effectively with the Office 365 suite)
- Ability to motivate oneself, demonstrate autonomy, learn new technologies and adapt to new situations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and cooperate with other to achieve results
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to make decisions even when under pressure

Compensation Information: The annual base pay range for this position is reasonably expected to be $68,000.00 and $102,100.00. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package - this role will also be eligible for a generous incentive program and full benefits. Quadra’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. Please note that the base pay shown qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
