FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:

Serve in a leadership role by partnering with business operations, Information Technology, Information Security and vendors to deliver reliable, innovative, and cost-effective technology solutions. Leads analyst team by supporting system improvement initiatives, manage cross-departmental projects and ensure technology solutions align with the credit union’s member experience, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency objectives. Requires a deep knowledge of the credit union’s core banking system, business process design and data integration.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Sr. Director of Technology

Supervises: Jr. Business Systems Support Analyst(s) , Business Systems Support Analyst(s) and Sr. Business Systems Support Analyst(s)

Contacts: Bellco Senior Management, Bellco Departments Management and Staff, Bellco Consortium Partners and Regulators (when requested by Bellco senior leadership).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Minimum – BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science. Professional certifications a plus.

Experience: Minimum – Five to ten years’ proven experience as an IT Specialist or relevant role. Experience with databases, networks and patch management. Knowledge of system security and recovery practices. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Financial institution experience a plus

  • Deep understanding of credit union operations, financial products and member service workflows and how they impact the business

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrates Bellco’s Act Nice Behaviors and Core Values in all interactions with members, prospective members, and personnel in other Bellco departments.
  2. Manage and mentor technology staff, providing coaching, training and performance evaluations.
  3. Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process improvement, automation, and member experience enhancement.
  4. Oversee daily operations of business systems, including core banking, lending platforms, payment platforms and other integrated applications.
  5. Work with technology partners and vendors to ensure high availability, performance and security of all systems and network infrastructure.
  6. Participate in technology-related business projects and communicate project status and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
  7. Oversee technology-related disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing and documentation.
  8. Collaborate with external partners and vendors on system integrations and support activities. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
  9. Monitor and manage the support ticket queues, ensuring tickets are assigned and resolved within defined SLAs.
  10. Deliver audit and exam requests for regulatory examiners and auditors. Participate in audits and exams as requested by senior leadership.
  11. Ensure complete and updated artifact and documentation library (change management, process flows, business requirement documents, technical specifications, training materials, support guides) to support systems usage, ongoing maintenance, and audit/regulatory traceability.
  12. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, operational departments, and IT/technical teams – ensuring clear communication of business impact, constraints, risk and priorities to facilitate adoption. Approve or block changes in change control meetings as appropriate.
  13. Assist in vendor selection and management (RFPs, vendor evaluation) and ensure vendor-delivered systems meet credit-union requirements, compliance and service standards.
  14. Ensure systems and processes comply with credit-union regulatory requirements, internal policies and strong cybersecurity and data protection practices.
  15. Serve as a champion of continuous improvement and innovation: stay current with industry trends (e.g., digital banking and process automation), recommend new technologies or methods to enhance member experience or operational efficiency.
  16. Provide support for break/fix issues, escalations, triage production problems related to critical systems – often coordinating resolution across teams and ensuring minimal disruption to member services.
  17. May participate in project planning, timeline/budget estimation, resource coordination and monitor project progress to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  18. Regular and punctual attendance.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

May necessitate movement to other branches or departments and out-of-state travel to partner and vendor locations. (Bellco requires all employees who drive their personal or a company vehicle in the routine performance of the job to have a valid driver’s license. They must provide proof of valid insurance.)

Can be required to work odd hours and be available 24/7 via phone or in person.
