About Andrenam
We’re building sonar and sensing systems that bring light to the last dark domain: the ocean. Our team includes alumni from SpaceX, Anduril, ABL, Palantir and Qualia. We build full-stack—from physics to perception to product—with speed, elegance, and an unwavering commitment to the mission.
We believe the maritime domain will define the next century of geopolitics and global security. We’re here to shape it.
About this role
AndrenaM is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer who is passionate about advancing autonomy and real-time maritime communication technology to join us at our office in Hawthorne, CA. This is a unique opportunity to be an early member of our software engineering team, shaping the product and technology from the ground up.
Our main engineering challenge is to develop a real-time data platform that can ingest, process, store, and analyze data from thousands of autonomous and semi-autonomous marine systems. This system must seamlessly handle a wide variety of sensors, hardware interfaces, data sources, and AI-driven analytics; all with military-grade security and robustness.
In this role
  • You will set a new standard for software and infrastructure used by distributed, autonomous maritime systems
  • You will take on full ownership of large engineering projects from scratch
  • You will tackle diverse engineering challenges, with the opportunity to shape your role over time as an individual contributor or technical leader
  • You will work alongside top engineers in software, hardware, and autonomy, contributing to cutting-edge defense technology
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and business teams to develop features across the stack, from embedded systems deployed in the field to cloud-based data pipelines and user-facing interfaces
  • Lead the development of reliable, scalable systems that support real-time data collection and analysis
  • Create tools to enable users to easily manage software deployments and testing
  • Drive technical decisions and contribute to the evolution of our software stack
  • Actively seek feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the user experience
  • Provide mentorship and contribute to a collaborative team culture
  • Become a go-to expert for all challenges encountered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IoT systems, defense tech, or related fields
  • Proficiency writing/debugging software in Python, Go, C++, Rust, or related languages
  • Proficiency architecting, deploying, and monitoring real-time, high-volume data processing systems on cloud/on-prem infrastructure
  • Expertise in Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, RHEL), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), OCI-compliant containerization/runtimes (e.g., Docker, containerd), and deployment management systems (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code and building CI/CD pipelines from scratch
  • Application of cybersecurity and networking best practices in production systems
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software/system design patterns
  • Experience integrating software systems with electronics or hardware systems
  • Experience deploying and managing database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience handling software and infrastructure in controlled and classified environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience developing roadmaps and communicating timelines with stakeholders of your work
  • Previous startup experience, working with non-technical customers, and examples of successfully proposing/delivering 0 to 1 projects
