Description

SUMMARY The IT Warehouse Support Technician provides hands-on technical support for warehouse management systems, mobile devices, automated equipment, and IT infrastructure within grocery distribution centers. This role ensures technology operates reliably to support continuous order fulfillment, inventory management, and distribution operations across multiple shifts. This is an onsite position. Candidates must be able to report to the Rancho Cucamonga Facility five days a week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required. Daily Technical Support Provide frontline technical support for warehouse management system (WMS) users and equipment operators Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RF scanners, mobile computers, printers, and voice-directed picking devices Support warehouse associates with login issues, device configurations, and system navigation Respond to help desk tickets and radio calls during assigned shifts Document all incidents, resolutions, and equipment repairs in ticketing system Equipment Management Maintain inventory of mobile devices including Zebra/Honeywell scanners, tablets, and wearable computers Configure and deploy new devices to warehouse associates Replace damaged screens, scan engines, and batteries on mobile devices Manage equipment loan pool and track device assignments Printer Label Support Troubleshoot thermal printers (Printronix) used for shipping labels, product labels, and pallet tags Replace printheads, clean sensors, and perform routine printer maintenance Load label stock, ribbons, and ensure proper printer calibration Support barcode quality issues affecting scanning and shipping accuracy Network Infrastructure Support Monitor wireless network performance and connectivity throughout the facility Identify and report dead zones or connectivity issues to IT leadership Assist with workstation setup, PC imaging, and peripheral installations Support desk phones, intercoms, and communication systems Warehouse Automation Support Perform basic troubleshooting on material handling equipment control systems Coordinate with automation vendors for complex repairs Support integration between WMS and automated equipment System Monitoring Monitor WMS performance and alert supervisor to system slowdowns or errors Track and report recurring issues affecting operational efficiency Support batch processes for inventory updates, order releases, and cycle counts Training Documentation Train new warehouse associates on proper use of RF devices and WMS basics Create quick reference guides and visual aids for common tasks Update standard operating procedures and equipment documentation Share knowledge with team members on new technologies and workarounds Safety Compliance Follow all warehouse safety protocols when working around forklifts and active operations Work safely in cold storage environments with proper protective equipment Maintain clean and organized IT equipment areas
