Family Support Specialist - Bilingual (Required)

  • Pay: $22.00 + 10% Bilingual Differential
  • Bilingual: English / Spanish (Required)
  • Hours: Flexible schedule with requirement to work two evening groups per week from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Focus Area:

Job Purpose:

The Hybrid Family Support Specialist is a cross trained role that provides holistic, trauma informed, home and school based support across multiple CSI programs, including Teen and Young Parent Program (TYPP), School and Family Enrichment (SAFE), Family Empowerment Program (FEP), and Independent Living Services (ILS). This position works with diverse populations including youth, young parents, adults, and families, offering skill building, case management, and advocacy to promote safety, stability, and long term well being.



Essential Job Duties:

  • Deliver home and school based, client centered services to youth and families across assigned programs
  • Provide parenting education, life skills coaching, and early childhood development guidance for pregnant and parenting youth (TYPP)
  • Support school age youth and families by addressing behavioral, attendance, and social emotional needs in collaboration with schools and community partners (SAFE)
  • Support FEP as needed by providing trauma informed services, empowerment support, and case management for survivors of domestic violence
  • Assist young adults in building independence through goal setting, life skills development, and connection to community resources (ILS)
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service plans, and progress tracking in compliance with program standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams, schools, and community agencies to ensure coordinated, wraparound care

Environment:

  • Provide home and school based services
  • Spend approximately 90 percent of time in the community and 10 percent in the office
  • Use personal vehicle for transportation between client visits and community locations
  • Be available to work two evenings per week from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of age of 21 years (required)
  • Experience working with youth and families in community based, home based, or school based settings preferred
  • Strong communication, crisis intervention, and trauma informed care skills
  • Ability to manage a flexible caseload across multiple programs and populations

Qualifications

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Own transportation that meets agency vehicle inspection requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 6 points.
  • Proof of insurance that meets agency requirements.
