SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Embedded OEM leads the overall strategy of MultiTech’s Embedded OEM product line. This role will work in coordination with Chief Product Officer to develop a strategy for the business, articulate that strategy to the MultiTech leadership team and the organization, and provide product leadership to the Embedded Engineering team and a cross-functional team to deliver on that strategy and meet determined business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a cross-functional delivery effort across product management, engineering, and platform teams to deliver products and service solutions for the Embedded OEM portfolio and meet financial growth targets and budget.
- Work closely with product management, sales, and marketing to identify, initiate, and prioritize new Embedded product opportunities based on customer, partner, and market trends.
- Communicate the product offering and product-line roadmap, collaborating across the organization to ensure roadmap coherence, alignment to platform capabilities, and launch of the portfolio of products and services.
- Work with leadership to track and report metrics measuring the performance, outcomes, and business impact of the Embedded OEM product line.
- Create and communicate the product-line growth strategy for the Embedded OEM portfolio that aligns with corporate business goals and objectives and includes:
- Market intelligence and competitive analysis
- Market requirements and detailed Voice-Of-Customer
- Product and Offering Roadmaps
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to create and execute a go-to-market plan for products and services.
- Own pricing strategy inputs and margin accountability, ensuring product portfolio decisions meet product cost targets and margin commitments in partnership with Chief Product Officer and Finance.
- Own product-line lifecycle strategy, including product introduction, sustainment, and end-of-life decisions the portfolio of products.
- Define, track, and achieve product-line KPIs for Embedded OEM products, projects, and services.
- Ensure products adhere to the stage-gate process and proactively align cross-functional stakeholders, communicating material changes, risks, or trade-offs as appropriate.
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve portfolio-level technical, commercial, certification, and delivery risks.
- Promote and represent the portfolio through periodic travel to customers, partners, and industry events.
- Establish clear product-line outcome expectations to support the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Embedded OEM portfolio.
- Coach and enable product and technical leaders through influence, identifying capability gaps and recommending investments in skills, tools, or resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in related field and/or a minimum of 10+ years successfully building and leading product development and commercial initiatives related to a product line.
- 7-10+ years of experience with M2M/IoT and/or communications solutions.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, including direct and indirect, influential leadership.
- Action-oriented and motivated to move expeditiously to meet company goals; proven ability to engage and motivate cross-functional team members to do the same.
- Experience in creatively solving problems and eliminating barriers.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Ability to travel and work with a global team of professionals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting requirements up to 25 pounds.
- Requires sitting and occasional standing and walking for periods of time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Reaching required.
- Requires travel using all modes of transportation.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
- Requires a valid passport.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
- Our Minnesota facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food is allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
