InterMetro Industries is looking for an energetic and driven HR Generalist I to join our Murfreesboro Distribution Center team. If you’re eager to build your career in Human Resources and want hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, this is a great opportunity to grow. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our people operations—supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, and day-to-day HR processes for our hourly workforce—while helping create a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture. This is an entry level HR Generalist position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists with recruiting for hourly open positions both direct and through staffing agencies. Posts open positions, reviews resumes, conducts phone and personal interviews.
- Maintain employee paper and electronic records.
- Maintains HRIS system integrity - Paycom
- Assists payroll Supervisor in processing payroll for hourly employees.
- Conducts onboarding of newly hired hourly employees and enters employee record into HRIS.
- Track employee training records.
- Prepares internal employee communications regarding benefits, compliance training, company policy, etc.
- Generates reports, handles multiple projects and prepares and monitors invoices and expense reports.
- Supports employee and activity initiatives as directed by Human Resources Manager.
- Assists HR Manager with employee relations issues.
- Prepares correspondence/spreadsheets/presentations/reports.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Possesses knowledge and understanding of the InterMetro Code of Business Ethics. Contributes to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code. Remains alert and sensitive to situations that could result in actions by an employee that are illegal, unethical, in violation of the Code or the policies and procedures that support the Code. Reports actual or perceived violations of the Code or Company policies and procedures for appropriate action.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Associate degree in business or equivalent academic experience, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in an HR field.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, HRIS
