Description
Role Overview
A growing managed security services organisation is seeking a technically capable and client-focused
Technical Account Manager to join its extended detection and response (XDR) delivery team. This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced SOC analyst or security pre-sales engineer to broaden their impact — combining deep security knowledge with strategic customer relationship management. In this role, you will act as the primary operational contact for a portfolio of enterprise customers, advocating for their needs internally and ensuring they consistently derive measurable value from the organisation's managed security services.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion the interests of customers within the security operations delivery function, ensuring their business objectives and operational needs are understood and represented internally.
- Own and maintain ongoing operational relationships across a portfolio of enterprise accounts, fostering trust and long-term partnership.
- Work alongside engineering and architecture teams to identify and deliver technical service enhancements that create tangible value
for customers. - Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for customers on their managed security services, providing strategic guidance and maintaining a tailored service roadmap for each account.
- Support the onboarding of new customers by building a thorough understanding of their specific business risks, security posture, and operational environment.
- Collaborate with onboarding consultants to develop customer Threat Models and maintain these throughout the ongoing service relationship.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving operational service issues by coordinating effectively with internal technical teams.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Solid grounding in core cyber security principles and practices.
- Practical experience working within or alongside Security Operations Centres (SOCs).
- Experience using or managing SIEM, EDR, and/or SOAR
platforms. - Proven ability to work independently, prioritising and managing tasks with minimal supervision.
Desirable / Advantageous
- Direct experience with Microsoft Sentinel and its broader
ecosystem. - Working familiarity with cloud environments, particularly
Microsoft Azure. - Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a
similar language.
