Business Manager - Equities - Analyst Engagement
We are looking for a Business Manager to join the Equities Management team in EMEA and lead on Learning & Development (L&D).
Principal Responsibilities
- EMEA team lead for L&D and Analyst Engagement, building a roster of training initiatives, best practices and forums to promote continuous learning at the platform.
- Curate targeted content for L&D sessions for investment professionals at all levels, with focus on research, idea generation, idea pitching, communication and investment process development.
- Coordinate, lead and host L&D sessions in partnership with investment professionals, Millennium Core teams and/or external vendors.
- Proactively identify and organise initiatives that enhance the analyst experience at Millennium, including onboarding, ongoing education efforts, analyst connectivity and cross-team collaboration.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, training and ongoing management of analysts across Millennium’s junior talent programmes.
- Act as the key point of contact for analysts within the Equities Management team, building relationships with Millennium investment professionals and developing a strong understanding of their roles, team structures, training needs and professional development priorities.
- Engage with PMs to support decisions on team buildout, analyst management and talent development, combined with a strong understanding of the PMs’ investment processes.
- Serve as a conduit for feedback between PMs and analysts, helping to identify challenges and develop constructive, practical solutions.
- Partner closely with the global Equities Management team and other Millennium Core teams, including Business Development, Corporate Access, Equity Research Tools, AI, to Millennium’s global L&D and platform positioning efforts.
- Implement and leverage technology solutions to track analyst engagement, support review processes and measure analyst development and performance over time.
Qualifications/Skill Set
- At least five years of experience as an analyst or PM in an Equities long/short environment, with proven track record of success OR at least five years of experience in a front office environment in the financial services sector, with significant expertise in the Equities trading space and ideally a strong understanding of long/short investing strategies.
- Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept through execution.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, improvement and talent development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across the platform and engage effectively with analysts, PMs and senior management.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and partner effectively with regional and global teams.
- Strong judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive feedback, performance discussions and talent-related matters.
