FunctionAs an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will work in the Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) department. You are responsible for building, automating, and operating secure and reliable Azure cloud infrastructure that supports UMAX workloads and internal platforms. You work closely with Azure Architects, service delivery teams, and global operations teams to ensure that cloud solutions are implemented consistently, efficiently, and in line with best practices.
The role is open for candidates based in India, working as part of a globally distributed team in close collaboration with Europe and North America.
UMAX integrates CRM, billing, invoicing, cash collection, meter data, asset and service management modules in one solution, offering utilities the tools & processes for effective sales, increased customer contribution margins, reduced lead times and streamlined operations. By doing so, it enables them to take operational performance and customer experience to higher levels, while cutting costs to serve.
As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will…
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure aligned with reference architectures and global platform standards.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep templates.
- Build, run, and continuously improve CI/CD and automation pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML.
- Operate and support Azure environments with a strong focus on security, stability, performance, availability, and cost awareness.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and runtime issues across Azure services.
- Collaborate with Azure Architects and delivery teams to ensure solutions are built and delivered as intended.
- Contribute to the evolution of Azure engineering standards, templates, and tooling within ETS.
- Create and maintain documentation and runbooks
- Stay up to date with Azure platform evolutions and share knowledge within the engineering community.
Our ideal candidate…
Experience & Background- Has min. 3 years’ experience in an Azure infrastructure or platform engineering role, with a solid technical background in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, including (but not limited to):
- Networking & security - VNETs, firewalls, Application Gateways, API Management
- Data services - Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, NoSQL data stores
- Compute & integration – Virtual Machines, Function Apps, Logic Apps, Container Apps
- Governance & operations - Azure Policy, monitoring, alerting
- Has strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Has experience with Bicep templates and working with JSON and YAML.
- Has implementation experience with Zero Trust principles, Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework (nice to have).
- Has experience with Dynamics 365 and/or the Power Platform (nice to have).
- AZ-104 – Azure Administrator Associate (required)
- AZ‑400 - DevOps Engineer Expert (expected or obtained during onboarding)
- AZ‑500 - Azure Security Engineer Associate (expected or obtained during onboarding)
- AZ‑305 - Azure Solutions Architect Expert (considered a plus)
