Description

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV) is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
  • RAAF Base Wagga

The proposed capital investment of $2 billion will incorporate a variety of elements including:

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
  • Construction of new training facilities
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer – Infrastructure to support the planning, coordination of subcontractors and delivery of building work packages at RAAF Base Wagga, as part of the Riverina Redevelopment Program. Working within a Tier 1 joint venture environment, you will contribute to the delivery of major Defence infrastructure works, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, cost‑effectively and to a high standard of quality. You will work closely with Senior Project Engineers, subcontractors and key stakeholders to plan, coordinate and control works in line with contractual, safety, quality and commercial requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and coordinate construction work packages from planning through to completion

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, programme and cost targets are met

  • Support project planning, risk identification, constructability reviews and contract administration

  • Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, variations, claims and progress reporting

  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements, project management plans and HOTO obligations

What you’ll bring

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline

  • Proven experience delivering construction projects within a complex or regulated environment

  • Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, contract administration and reporting

  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders

  • A proactive, safetyfocused mindset aligned to quality, delivery and continuous improvement
