Within our Netherlands HR NL Leadership Team, an opportunity has become available for an HRBP Lead COO NL. The purpose of the role is to work with the HR NL Leadership Team, the COO NL LT and Global HR COO team to shape and implement the people agenda within COO through enhancing leadership capabilities and driving strategic people decisions, such as talent and succession planning, people development and team performance.
In total, both global and NL COO domains In the Netherlands are in scope from HR Business Partnering perspective. This includes 10 direct reports of the COO Netherlands and 10 global domains based in the Netherlands. The role closely aligns and collaborates with the Global HR Business Partners in COO as you will contribute to the delivery of the global HR / COO and local ExCo NL Management strategy.
The role reports directly to the HRD NL and closely collaborates with COO HR Director Global. The role is part of the Netherlands HR Leadership Team and the COO NL LT based in Amsterdam. Together with your HR colleagues, you will drive the HR agenda for COO Netherlands where you will be a focal point for key HR topics.
Roles and responsibilities
You will be responsible for building a strong relationship with COO leadership and the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) NL, this role will bring in-depth specialist knowledge in multiple HR areas of expertise and equally, has strong business acumen and affinity with all business lines and functions in scope.
Key responsibilities include:
Act as strategic HR partner to COO leaders: Coach and challenge senior business leaders on people topics, translate business priorities into clear people actions and ensure alignment between HR and COO domains.
Drive people strategy delivery for COO NL, leveraging data: Own the execution, adaptation and impact of the people strategy within COO NL, while providing senior HR support to global COO domains (with a focus on NL legislation). Leverage HR data and insights to identify root causes of business challenges and translate them into actionable solutions that improve engagement and performance.
Contribute as a core member of the HR NL Leadership Team: Actively shape HR NL strategy, drive cross-functional priorities, and contribute to key deliverables and decision-making across the HR function.
Lead workforce planning, build organisational capability, and strengthen leadership pipeline: Implement and continuously improve workforce planning, talent development, (leadership) succession planning and hiring, with strong focus on D&I and ESG priorities.
Own compensation and benefits execution: Lead the annual compensation cycle for COO NL, applying expertise in local and global C&B practices and governance.
Partner with CoEs and People Services to drive best-in-class HR practices: Collaborate with local and global CoEs and People Services to continuously improve HR practices, strengthen talent retention and enable an inclusive performance culture within COO NL.
Drive employee engagement and team effectiveness
Lead and develop a high-performing HR team (4 FTE) and foster an environment where employees are engaged, empowered and able to perform at their best.
Manage Works Council engagement (COO): Act as HR Lead for COO Works Council topics; coordinate all advice, consent and information processes and maintain a trusted relationship with the council.
Ensure governance, integrity and compliance
Act as key HR representative on governance and integrity topics, ensuring adherence to ING standards and supporting leadership in sensitive people matters

Acts as a trusted advisor, coaching, challenging and holding senior leaders accountable where needed
Drives organisational design, transformation and workforce planning, with a clear focus on business impact
