Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Vice President, Personal Lines. You will oversee the daily operations of our personal lines department, mentor a team of account managers, and cultivate strong relationships with our carrier partners. The ideal candidate ensures high standards of client satisfaction, policy accuracy, and department growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, train, and develop a team of personal lines account managers and producers. Conduct performance reviews, set KPIs, and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary escalation point for complex client issues. Review policies to ensure clients are adequately covered and identify opportunities for account rounding and cross-selling.
  • Carrier & Underwriting Oversight: Maintain excellent relationships with insurance carriers. Ensure team compliance with carrier underwriting guidelines, state regulations, and internal agency policies.
  • Sales & Growth Strategy: Collaborate with producers and leadership to achieve agency sales targets, drive renewal retention, and maximize book-of-business profitability.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of personal lines insurance experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or senior account management role.
  • Licensing: Active state Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License required.
  • Industry Designations: Professional designations such as CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative), or CPCU are highly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of personal lines products, rating procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Tech Proficiencies: Strong working knowledge of AMS360

Compensation & Benefits: The base salary range for this role is $145,000-$165,000 annually.  Actual compensation will be based on factors including location, skills, experience, and internal equity.  Cross Insurance offers a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to: Medical; Dental; Vision; Life / AD&D; Short and Long-Term Disability; 401k (with match); HSA/FSA/DCA options; Paid Time Off; and more.
