Work with a leading UK professional services firm through GCO Partners
Join GCO Partners and build your global career while staying rooted in South Africa. We connect strong professionals to meaningful international work, with the support, structure, and community to help them grow. At GCO, we care deeply about People, Performance, and Progress, and we look for professionals who want to do high-quality work, keep learning, and make a real impact.
We are hiring a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant to support one of our UK partners, Crowe, a leading national firm with global reach and strong local expertise. In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative corporate tax team supporting a varied client base, including owner-managed businesses, listed companies, multinational groups, and private equity-backed businesses.
This is a strong opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys corporate tax compliance work, has solid technical foundations, and wants greater exposure to international clients and more complex tax matters.
What you'll do
Prepare and review corporate tax computations and returns for a varied portfolio of clients
Support the delivery of corporate tax compliance work accurately and on time
Assist with tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, tax reconciliations, and tax disclosures for statutory accounts
Respond to client queries and help resolve day-to-day tax matters efficiently
Work closely with managers and senior stakeholders on advisory and planning assignments
Carry out technical research and summarise findings clearly
Review work prepared by junior team members where required and provide practical guidance
Build strong working relationships across the tax team and with colleagues in audit and business services
Help identify risks, issues, and opportunities that should be escalated or explored further
Contribute to a high-performance team environment through reliability, quality, and strong communication
What we're looking for
Relevant tax qualification or progress toward one, such as CTA, ACA, SAICA, or equivalent
Strong experience in corporate tax compliance
Good working knowledge of UK corporate tax principles, compliance processes, and related computations
Exposure to tax accounting, including deferred tax and tax disclosures in statutory accounts
Experience supporting a portfolio of clients or managing a busy allocation of work across multiple clients
Confidence dealing with client queries and working with stakeholders professionally
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
A collaborative mindset and willingness to support more junior team members
Experience with tax software such as Alphatax would be useful, but is not essential
What will make someone stand out
Experience in a professional services or accounting firm environment
Exposure to both compliance and advisory work
Experience working with UK-based clients or UK tax frameworks
Ability to explain technical matters clearly and commercially
A proactive approach to identifying issues before they become problems

You'll get:

A hybrid model based in Johannesburg
