Parkside Community Primary and Preschool are seeking to appoint a new member of the support team, working as a Finance Assistant, from the start of September or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will support the School Business Manager and Headteacher in the financial management of the school including budget monitoring, processing orders and invoices, monthly reporting, liaison with suppliers and contractors, and managing income related to our Wraparound Care and Preschool.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive and hard-working team. You must have the ability to work unsupervised and particularly enjoy the challenges of a busy office. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with good numerical and communication skills.

The role is for 10-15 hours per week term-time only, with a further 5 days (pro-rata equivalent) to be worked outside term-time.

The precise working hours/days would be agreed between the school and the successful candidate as these can be flexible.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • confident working with computer packages, such as Word and Excel (or Google equivalents)
    numerically literate
  • a quick learner
  • able to adhere to strict confidentiality
  • motivated to work unsupervised and on their own
  • a good communicator (verbally and in writing)
  • able to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
  • accurate and has an attention to detail

Experience of ARBOR financial management system would be beneficial, although not essential as comprehensive training is available.
