Our client is a consultancy firm in marine and energy. As part of their ongoing growth, our client is seeking a Country Manager Singapore to lead the business locally. This role is suited for a strategic, results-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about business growth and building high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
As Country Manager, youll be responsible for shaping and executing business strategies to drive growth in Singapore. Youll oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality project delivery, and maintain strong financial and commercial performance. A key focus of the role is developing and managing relationships internally and externally to ensure success across technical delivery, client satisfaction, and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead strategic planning and execution for the Singapore business with clear growth objectives.
- Monitor industry developments and proactively identify market opportunities.
- Provide inspiring leadership to technical, operational, and administrative teams.
- Support team development through mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Optimize resource utilization and project delivery to meet business targets.
- Manage the Singapore P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Improve cash flow by minimizing outstanding billing and overdue payments.
- Enhance work processes to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Drive business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and contract oversight.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to promote cross-border opportunities.
- Represent our client at client meetings, industry events, and professional forums.
- Oversee ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Provide hands-on consultancy in marine and offshore areas when required.
- Support project attendances and vessel inspections globally as needed.
- Ensure 70% of time is allocated across business development and revenue-generating projects annually.
- Take on other related responsibilities as required.
- The position is based in Singapore. Flexibility in working hours is expected. Our client welcomes applications from outside Singapore and may consider relocation for the right candidate.
Requirements
Our client is looking for someone with the vision to lead, the drive to grow the business, and the technical and commercial experience to make an immediate impact. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator with strong leadership and relationship-building abilities.
Ideal Profile:
- A Master Mariner (STCW II/2), Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), or technical degree (e.g., Naval Architecture, Structural or Civil Engineering)
- 810+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within marine or offshore sectors
- Hands-on experience with marine operations, vessel inspections, or offshore consultancy
- Proven success managing teams and executing business/project plans
- Familiarity with the offshore oil & gas sector and marine engineering consultancy
