Description
The Procurement Specialist supports vendor procurement, purchasing workflows, and 1099-related financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role aligns with HGAC, TWC, and federal requirements while supporting service delivery for clients, education partners, and childcare programs. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Vendor Relations, this position manages vendor onboarding, purchasing, and financial reconciliation. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage vendor procurement lifecycle, including application review, W-9 verification, and compliance checks
- Coordinate with program teams to determine procurement methods and create purchase requisitions
- Track and facilitate approval workflows, resolving delays to ensure timely processing
- Oversee purchase orders through issuance, vendor communication, and financial tracking
- Review and resolve 1099 inquiries and support reconciliation processes for tax compliance
- Maintain procurement documentation and systems (SharePoint, Smartsheet)
- Collaborate with vendors, Accounts Payable, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years' experience in procurement, vendor management, or contract specialist
