Description

Sumitomo SHI FW Energy North America Corporation is looking for an experienced, motivated, and self-driven Customer Care & Business Development Manager to join our Services team in the USA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing our Services business in the US market, with a strong focus on lifecycle extension projects, including technology modernizations and upgrades.

This position is fully remote and requires a highly independent and proactive way of working. You are expected to take ownership of customer relationships and business opportunities across the Americas while collaborating closely with global SFW teams.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary global teams across SFW’s Services division and serve as a key point of contact for external partners and customers throughout the USA to identify and develop new business and commercial opportunities.

This position will report to the Vice President, Customer Care and Business Development (Europe & Americas), who is based in Europe.

Your responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility will be sales-phase activities, while also contributing to the development of SFW’s business strategy in the Americas.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships and act as a trusted partner throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and develop lifecycle service opportunities supporting customers’ operational, reliability, and decarbonization targets.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to develop competitive commercial and technical service solutions.
  • Support customer care activities, including customer satisfaction follow-up, account development planning, and identification of new aftermarket opportunities.
  • Represent SFW’s portfolio, values, and culture at industry trade fairs and in external customer and partner engagements across the Americas.
  • Develop and define technical concepts and execution models together with SFW lifecycle services, technical support, and commercial teams.
  • Work closely with regional and global stakeholders to support profitable growth and strengthen SFW’s market position in the Americas.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of sales processes, business development practices, and customer engagement models.
  • Independently manage customer activities, sales opportunities, and business development initiatives in a remote working environment.

What you bring

  • B.Sc. or Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a comparable field.
  • Experience in B2B industrial technology sales, customer care, or sales management within an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the US power industry, including fluidized bed boiler technologies, decarbonization solutions, and lifecycle services.
  • Experience with commercial sales management tools such as CRM systems, Salesforce reporting, analytics solutions, and managing virtual teams.
  • Ability to communicate confidently across organizational levels and cultures in fluent English. Spanish is considered an advantage.
  • Strong commercial mindset combined with a customer-focused and solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively drive opportunities in a complex international environment.
  • Comfortable working remotely with a high level of accountability and self-leadership.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
