Job Description:

The Associate Program Director is a key member of the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies (UF SPAS) leadership team, responsible for contributing to the overall administration, management, and strategic planning of the program. This position will work closely with the leadership team to promote quality education in accordance with the University, School, and Program missions and values. This position is supervised by the Program Director, School of Physician Assistant Studies. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

About This Role:

Strategic Planning and Programmatic Support

  • As a member of the UF SPAS leadership team, collaborate on overall administration, management, and strategic planning of the SPAS to promote quality education in accordance with University, School, and Program missions and values.
  • Support future expansion of the program by identifying opportunities for growth, developing strategies for sustainable development, and ensuring that the program is positioned to meet evolving needs.
  • Represent the program at national and regional professional meetings, committees, and events, including the College of Medicine (COM), Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and other relevant organizations.
  • Participate (attend, lead, pre/post work) in UF SPAS committees as assigned per Program Director.
  • In absence of Program Director, assume responsibilities and duties as needed.

Student Progress and Success

  • Serve as Chair of the Professional Standards and Promotion Committee, overseeing the monitoring of student evaluation and progress.
  • Coordinate efforts to identify students who may be at risk and develop strategies to support their success.
  • Work with the program leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote student well-being and success.
  • Collaborate with student affairs personnel to support student success and retention initiatives.
