Description
The Sales Director forms a vital part of the sales population within the MENA region. The role carries general management duties, potentially including acting as a signatory for the local entity on legislative and financial matters. The Sales Director is responsible for delivery of the annual revenue target for their specific area through effective account management, and for delivering an accurate revenue forecast based on the operational activity and expenditure planned by customers. The role is also accountable for retaining the existing customer base while identifying and successfully developing relationships with new customers, and for ensuring client understanding of the full Weatherford portfolio of products and services across the customer matrix.
Adopt and drive consistent, effective use of available sales software platforms (SFDC, SharePoint, XAIT-Porter).
Introduce the Weatherford portfolio of products and services across the customer matrix.
Retain the customer base and support Account Managers in identifying and developing relationships with new customers.
Assign appropriate resources to identified opportunity leads, manage the lead process, ensure sales personnel understand and comply with the process, and track opportunities through to closure, monitoring conversion requirements.
Drive the tender management process through the Geozone commercial operations teams.
Hold final approval authority, in conjunction with the Geozone VP, for all client submissions.
Liaise with the CTM Director to ensure effective and efficient utilization of the CTM hub.
Support negotiation discussions, including liaison with Legal for contract drafting and execution.
Obtain a Go/No-Go decision based on GOA approvals and advise the client accordingly.
Ensure the Upsell Plan is finalized and achieved.
Ensure a contract review is undertaken and a close-out meeting is held with the client and all relevant stakeholders.
Develop and execute sales campaigns, and assemble and disseminate market intelligence.
Ensure all matters brought before management are appropriate, and facilitate the quality of debate and decision-making.
Oversee all areas of business risk and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
Own the generation of annual forecasts and revenue targets through account plans.
Deliver positive commercial results through strong negotiating skills, driving continuous improvement in margin performance.
Drive alignment by integrating all sales activities into a single sales plan for the Geozone.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews of Account Managers and Technical Sales personnel against their Account Plans.
Identify and address revenue gaps for the year to ensure target achievement.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including mentoring and coaching.
Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and creative passion in building trust with stakeholders, particularly when driving change in processes and people.
Ability to relate to and influence stakeholders at all levels, within both own and client organizations.
Effective written and verbal communicator of commercial strategy and operational execution.
Experience in P&L management (financial acumen) and managing multi-cultural areas.
Experience creating account plans and strategies.
10 years in a leadership role
15 years experience in Sales, Product line management and Operations.
