The Opportunity:
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Engineer 2 to design, implement, and optimize robust cloud solutions that align with business needs and industry best practices. This role involves tackling complex technical challenges, leading the development of scalable infrastructure, and contributing to the strategic growth of our cloud capabilities.
As a key member of our cloud engineering team, you will collaborate across departments, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation and continuous improvement in our Azure ecosystem.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
About The Role:
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges in cloud infrastructure and applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members, share expertise, and contribute to continuous improvement of cloud practices.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using BICEP and ARM templates, enabling automation and efficient cloud resource management.
- Enhance cloud security by designing and implementing robust security frameworks, threat detection mechanisms, and compliance measures.
What You Need to Succeed:
Accountability:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance Azure-based cloud infrastructure.
- Automation of infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep and ARM templates.
- Build and support infrastructure for Azure Databricks environments and Power BI data integrations, ensuring optimized performance and cost-efficiency.
- Support and manage Azure virtual network, Application gateways, Azure front doors, PaaS and IaaS azure services
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues to ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Collaborate with development, analytics, and operations teams to integrate cloud services, including data platforms, into enterprise applications.
- Drive cloud cost optimization and performance tuning based on usage patterns and telemetry data.
- Contribute to security architecture and implement advanced controls, monitoring, and incident response mechanisms.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to documentation, process improvement, and knowledge sharing.
Education:
- 3+ years of university or college in software engineering, computer science, information technology.
Experience:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Practical experience deploying Azure Databricks, Azure Kubernetes, Azure Redhat Openshift for enterprise workloads with Security best practices
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure support in Azure environments solving DNS and Network related issues.
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, ARM, cicd pipeline deployments.
- Strong background in cloud security, performance tuning, and network design.
