POSITION TITLE: Financial Analyst

REPORTS TO: Financial Analysis Supervisor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial monitoring and analysis to the approved budget, monthly revenue recognition entries, applicable reporting to the funding source, and assistance in the preparation of annual budgets for assigned programs and grants.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for providing financial projections, budget variance explanations, and forecasting to Program Managers on a monthly basis.
- Verify all budgeted expenses (salary, fringe, occupancy and direct expense line items) on a monthly basis against the actual expenses and summarize results in monthly scheduled meetings with Program Managers to ensure grants are on track, data is accurately reported and make recommendations to Program Managers for budget line adjustments.
- Ensure proper billing is reported in connection with the monthly financial closing and work with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure collection of assigned funds occurs.
- Maintain financial program files for assigned programs.
- Complete all required financial reports to funder based on scheduled due dates as listed in the executed grant contracts.
- Conduct budget analysis in preparation of completing budget revisions. Review and prepare budget modifications and request revisions to efficiently use all funds before the program fiscal year/contract period ends.
- Assist with Funder’s monitoring visits.
- Assist with annual audit and closing of funds.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration required. Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of related experience. Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting practices and principles, Fund or governmental accounting practices and principles.
Demonstrated Skills: Ability to use financial software and MS Office skills with advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service and organizational skills. Must exercise confidentiality and educated judgment to perform projections. Demonstrated ability to multitask and be proactive.
