Consumer Finance Internal Auditor I

Schedule:











Work hours will depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced.

To the extent permitted by law, the Company may, in its sole discretion, change the work schedule to address business needs.









In This Role, You Will:











Conduct internal compliance audits of all Mariner Finance branches and/or HQ departments. Work independently to collect, investigate, and test information gathered from employees and loan files at the assigned department/branch.









Responsibilities and Essential Duties:






































  • Schedule annual compliance audits and monitor completeness throughout the year.
  • Perform tests of transactions and other basic audit procedures using appropriate documentation standards.
  • Prepare memorandums for senior management summarizing work performed and personnel findings.
  • Develop effective communication with employees in operating areas (to include providing feedback and recommendations to branch operations).
  • Provide recommendations to senior management to improve compliance with internal controls.
  • Participate in projects to enhance internal control and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform follow-up audits for unsatisfactory reviews.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned (these could include but are not limited to conducting due diligence on potential acquisitions and reporting findings to CEO).
  • Conduct confidential integrity interviews with all staff during compliance audits.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.









Required Qualifications:
































  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Knowledge of lending, collections, and fair practice and ethics in consumer finance.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50% of the time.









Preferred Qualifications:














  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field; previous banking or finance company experience.
  • Knowledge of internal company policy.









Physical Demands:











While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: Salary (commensurate with experience) + Bonus
